Affordable & Attainable Housing

A strong year-round community depends on having housing that working people can actually afford. Chatham has delayed action for too long, and we are now feeling the impact—losing our workforce and putting pressure on local businesses and services.

As Chair of the Zoning Board of Appeals, I worked through one of the most complex and controversial housing proposals our town has faced. The board did not create the project—but we worked to improve it—bringing forward concerns, requiring changes, and ensuring the process was thorough, transparent, and grounded in state law.Not everyone agreed with the outcome, and that’s understandable. We delivered 48 Units of much needed affordable housing to our town. 

The reality is this: Chatham needs housing, and these decisions are not simple. My approach is to listen, ask hard questions, and make sure every voice is heard while moving the town forward.

We need to do better going forward—by identifying the right sites early, setting clear expectations, and working with partners who understand our community. I support working with nonprofit developers and prioritizing housing for the people who keep Chatham running—teachers, public safety, healthcare workers, and those in our local economy.

Housing and water quality are our two most critical challenges. Addressing them requires steady, thoughtful leadership—not delay.

We can’t undo past decisions, but we can improve how we move forward. That’s the work I’m committed to.
